Perfectly Made A.F. (PMAF) – FAQs

About Our Mission

What is PMAF’s mission?

We’re here to help people find true, lasting freedom from alcohol—without shame, stigma, or white-knuckled willpower. Traditional free programs often focus solely on behavior, relying on willpower to resist drinking. PMAF supports programs that go deeper—uncovering and changing limiting beliefs about alcohol through science, compassion, and empowerment. Our founder, Kelly, personally experienced this freedom through The Path by This Naked Mind and is passionate about making this kind of transformation accessible to others after her brother lost his battle to alcohol in 2023. Additionally, we are changing the narrative around alcohol and alcohol free lifestyles along the way. Kelly wants to get the word out that alcohol free is actually a BLAST, unlike the doom and gloom she believed it would be based on historical knowledge.

What are the current program(s) PMAF is supporting via scholarship funds?

We currently support the scholarship fund for participants in The Path via This Naked Mind (TNM). We chose this program as our founder, Kelly, personally participated in this program and found effortless freedom from alcohol. Check out her story in the ABOUT section of this website. Per TNM, an impressive 90% of TNM participants report reducing their drinking or stopping altogether, with over 70% attributing their success to The Path. Additionally, PMAF is open to broadening our scholarship funds to other programs that may prove similar results to The Path as we move forward as an organization.

What is The Path? How is it different from traditional ‘sobriety’ programs?

The Path is a science-backed, compassion based, joy-focused 12-month program that leverages brain research to disconnect emotional and subconscious ties to alcohol, so participants don’t crave alcohol anymore. Unlike behavior-based programs, TNM doesn’t leave it up to willpower, which is scientifically proven to be limited, but instead works to uncover the root of the drinking in the first place, in a safe, compassionate ,online community. Kelly (our founder) calls it “the greatest magic trick of all time.” For more information check out their website at www.thisnakedmind.com or in our ABOUT section.

Why does PMAF want to change the narrative around alcohol and alcohol addiction?

Alcohol is the only addictive drug where society blames the person, not the substance.
We say someone is addicted to nicotine, cocaine, or sugar—but with alcohol, we label the person as an "alcoholic." This shifts the focus away from the drug’s addictive nature and instead suggests something is inherently broken in the individual. But alcohol has all the characteristics of an addictive substance. The difference is how it's marketed, perceived, and labeled.

There’s no "addictive gene." While factors like trauma, mental health, certain personality traits, or chronic pain can increase vulnerability, alcohol use disorder—like any addiction—exists on a spectrum. Labeling people as broken robs them of agency and hope. If we stop blaming the individual and start recognizing alcohol as the addictive substance it is, we open the door to more compassionate, science-backed solutions—and real freedom.

Donations & Scholarships

Who benefits from PMAF donations?

Financially insecure individuals who are ready to change their relationship with alcohol. Your donation funds scholarships for programs that make alcohol freedom not only possible—but easy. You’re not just helping one person; you’re creating ripple effects across families and communities. As of now, 100% of our scholarships go to participants in The Path.

How much is The Path program?

The 12-month program is $3,000/year or $250/month. The scholarship plan will cover 75% of that cost for scholarship recipients.

Scholarship Details

Does PMAF choose who receives scholarships?

Not directly. We collaborate with TNM to help support the application process. TNM coaches work closely with participants and are best equipped to determine who’s ready and eligible to receive the scholarships, therefore we rely on them to pick the appropriate recipients.

What are the logistics of the scholarships?

Applicants go through an application process and must be vouched by a TNM coach. We offer 75% scholarships for The Path to ensure recipients still have a stake in their journey. PMAF will receive reports of scholarship fund usage with recipients within the limits of confidentiality that the participants deserve.

How do you identify scholarship recipients?

The Path offers a free trial so participants and coaches can assess if the program is a good fit and determine the readiness of the participant. Scholarships may be awarded at the start or even mid-program if someone encounters unexpected hardship (job loss, family issues, etc.).
